Super Cool!
About two weeks ago, while at Krystal I told them about the Milkquakes that KHQ was testing out. Folks at my local Krystal were excited. They also told me that "Some New Chiks" were coming. They didn't know details, though.Do these look familiar? How about these?Perhaps this will help?Back in April 2006, just after I got back from my first trip to KHQ in Chattanooga, I tossed out a couple of "New Chik" ideas. Click here In mid may, on a visit to my friend Chris's house, we hastily assembled the "Buffalo Chick." Click here I have actually tossed out several other Chik ideas (Chik'n Ranch, Chik'n Parmesan, and Chik'n Cordon Bleu among them.) I have friends email me and tell me they'd tried some of the chik ideas, and wondered why Krystal didn't "run with 'em." Well the wait is over. Starting this week they are now on their "Saucy Chik" campaign: I get that question A LOT about my stuffing recipe and things like that. Let me just go ahead and go on record on this: It is not and has never been my intention to try to profit from my love of Krystal. I feel that if, somehow, I did get paid for any of this it would cheapen the whole thing and tarnish my reputation. It probably wouldn't look so good for Krystal either. I am so completely honored and overwhelmed by the time and attention and recognition that Krystal has given me already that it has never occurred to me to seek any kind of financial gain from it. There's been a lot of press lately about companies who actually pay bloggers to praise their products. How low can you get? Thankfully, one of the main ad companies who has been doing this is now requiring bloggers who get financial compensation to actully tell readers they have been paid for the comment. For the record, I make no money off this blog, off my recipes, or anything else. In fact, I pay a small amount each month for webhosting space over on Geocities to host some of my pictures, and my videos. I have not and will never accept advertising money of any kind here at Krystal Adventure. Web page ads annoy me while I am surfing the web so I refuse to subject you folks to them. Now as for Krystal giving me "credit." Honestly how hard is it to come up with a BBQ Krystal? And heck the McRib is back again, so obviously McDonalds knows how to put sauce on a sandwich. The Buffalo Chik is really just the good old Spicy Chik with the addition of Pepperjack cheese (which I never thought of). I never thought too hard about a honey mustard chik, mainly because I don't like honey mustard. (I forced the honey mustard chik down tonight but wont eat another one.. not my style.) So to answer the question: did Krystal get these ideas from me? I don't know and frankly I don't care. That question sounds a bit like jealousy and as we should all know my now, Chili Cheese Pups cure jealousy. Instead of wondering who came up with these delicious little chiks, why not go out and grab some! With a saucy little chik in each hand and another one in your mouth, you'll soon forget all about who created what. Think about it, perhaps the only thing better than fresh hot chiks is fresh hot saucy chiks! So in closing, here's my review: Barbeque chik is awesome. Its not North Carolina style BBQ sauce it's the southern hickory style: sweet with a slow heat that kicks you later. Buffalo Chik is fantastic. Its that old familiar Spicy Chik that gives your tonsils a karate chop, and the addition of the pepperjack cheese gives your tongue an extra punch of heat on the way down. Honey mustard chik isn't my bag. I don't do honey mustard anything, so it was no surprise that the honey mustard chik didn't do anything for me. However, if you're a honey mustard fan, then I'm sure this is right up your alley! |
