Quick easy lunch recipe
Ove the past week to ten days I have been talking to friends of mine with kids in the 2-4 year age range and they all have stories on how much trouble it is to get their little ones to eat. I remember many years ago watching my sister in law, Amy, feed my oldest nephew, William. If she didn't have quick hands, she might have lost a few fingers in the process. If she could have held him with one hand and a snow shovel in the other, I think it might have been worth a shot. I got to wondering if I was a troublesome eater when I was little. Now I am sure my mother could chime in with the correct answer to that, but I'm not going to share those details with you. Mind your own business! So along the lines of my childhood dining I recalled one of my favorite meals when i was little. A rather simple creation: macaroni and cheese with a hot dog cut up in it. It sort of seems so obvious when you hear it. Now being who I am, I immediately started to plot a Krystal version. Sadly, Krystal doesn't do any sort of pasta, but they absolutely do hot dogs... well Chili Cheese Pups. Suddenly it all became so very clear. So on this chilly December afternoon, I present to you another Krystal Recipe: Little J's Lunch. Click here for my standard step by step preperation with pictures. A couple of important points: 1) In the pictures I went with three Chili Chese Pups (The #5 combo). In the recipe I upped it to four pups, and once you see the picture's you'll understand why. It needed a little more "woof!" so to speak. 2) Just because I called it "Little J's Lunch" does not mean it is OK for you to call me "Little J." If you will review one of my original posts regarding nicknames here you'll see I have never been called "Little J" but I have been called "J" a lot in my life and this recipe is roughly based on what I ate as a kid, when I was relatively little. Thus the name "Little J." Calling me "Little J" will get you and ugly look or ignored. And if you will recall, calling me "JJ" will get you punched in the throat. There will be another very similar recipe coming soon as well that will also be a quick and easy and yummy meal, so stay tuned! I think it's time for a second helping of Cheesy Pups in Pasta for me! ![]() |
