The Brain Freeze Challenge
The Krystal-Lovers Blog has more or less been dead a while. The last post was announcing the Christmas MilkQuakes on December 14th. The Forum on Krystal.com has been a bit slow as well. The Krystal Lover's Lounge Myspace page has been updated on occasion, so that's been my lifeline of what's new and whats coming. That's where I found this: When i first saw them I got excited since something new was coming. But then I thought about it for a minute. Then I realized something. I'd seen these before. Not only that, but I'd HAD these before! If you hop back in the archives (to the left) to February of last year you'll find a recap of my wild trip to Chattanooga to the Krystal Test Store (KH-60?) on Brainerd Rd. in Chattanooga. You may recall this meal with a Lemon Slushie, and you may also recall this meal with a Grape Slushie. It was so good and so cold my teeth still hurt! I have looked so very very closely at this picture: I can only assume there's a cherry and strawberry as well. Looking closely at the menu I can't quite make out what all is in there or even how many there are, but I swear I see a Green Apple and a Mango. Perhaps even a Raspberry and a Blackberry? And if you can get those mixed would they make a Loganberry? Obviously I am going to have to go and sample some, but I am not sure I can wait that long. I wanna know and I wanna know now! So here is the Brain Freeze Challenge. You (yes, you) must go to Krystal and buy a new Freeze, and take a picture of you with it. Then send me that picture along with the flavor you chose. If you want to send along a short description of it, I'll post it here. Then on Friday I will report to Krystal in Murrell's Inlet, SC and order one of each flavor that has been properly identified by you, my Krystal Recon Platoon. I will place the Slushies side by side and then proceed to drink then one after another until I am done or my skull splits in half. The reason you must send me a picture of you with your Slushie is so you don't cheat and just go read the menu and send all of the flavors in one email. Also, for the artistic readers, no "photoshopping" different flavors into your cup to try and make it appear you have had every flavor. The way I see it, this is a win-win situation for you. You get to enjoy a delicious frozen treat and tell people about it. Also, you get to likely cause physical pain and perhaps damage to me. Or at least get me stared at by the people at Krystal when I order 6 Freezes all by myself. I can't help but wonder, though, if I could somehow put some tapioca pearls in the bottom of one of those green apple slushies and make myself a right taste Sour Green Apple Bubble Tea? In due time. In due time. But until then, go forth! Enjoy a frozen treat! Then send me your pictures! You have until Friday morning! * All entries for the BrainFreeze Challenge must be received no later than 9am on Friday, March 21st. |

Hey Jason, There's a new place online to get the scoop on all things Krystal. Go to Krystalist.com and there's a post about the new Krystal Freeze.
BTW -- Love your Brain Freeze Challenge - Share any pics you receive w/ us and we'll post them on Krystalist.com.
Also, wanted to tip you off that Krystal is launching an online campaign next week that offers helpful tips on coping with brain freeze, which, as you already know, is something many will inevitably get when they slurp down their Krystal Freeze. We'll also be encouraging people to send in video and pics of their own brain freeze experiences and any tricks they have used for relief.
