Episode #3-Tuesday

OK, this will be a short post today, mainly cause its Friday and I'm tired. But a few side notes before I wrap up my big trip.
Yes this is a blatant rip off of 'Where's Waldo?'The boxes are in the stores. The first winners of the "Where's Jason" award are Val and Al. I work with Val and she and her husband Al, found my ugly mug on a box at the Krystal in Byron, GA. So if you haven't found one yet, you might make your way down there. Remember! When you do find me, email me and let me know which Krystal and I'll report it here so others can get a box.
Now, the Saturday before I went on my Adventure, I spend the day with my friend Jarrett and his family, in town from Florida. His parents are probably my biggest Krystal fans except maybe my parents, and they very much wanted to get a picture taken with me. Jarrett's wife Jaime has a myspace blog and the picture is posted there. They also wanted me to sign it, and after years of getting hockey player's autographs, it only felt natural to sign it "Jason Jennette, KLHOF #22" You can also see one of my new Krystal T-shirts in the picture.
After the Krystal Chik problem I ran into the other nite when I couldn't make a Spicy Chik'n Ranch, tonight I decided to make a regular Chik'n Ranch, it was quite delicious:

(Yes I know there is already a "chicken ranch." Get your mind out of the gutter!)
And with that I am sure you're ready for the last of my adventure recap.
I left Chattanooga early on Tuesday, after walking Linda's dog. Or more accurately, allowing Linda's dog to roll around in the wet grass for 15 minutes. And headed towards Chattanooga. My hotel was in Murfreesboro, just south of Chattanooga. Why Murfreesboro, you ask? Well I had a top secret mission I had to accomplish. I arrived way too early at my hotel, as usual. Those time zone things ALWAYS mess me up. So I kicked back and read for a while until it was game time. Around 5:30 I got my gear on and headed to Gaylord Entertainment Center for the hockey game between my Detroit Red Wings and the Nashville Predators. Since the Wings had clinched 1st place almost a week prior they had been resting some of their top players prior to the playoffs (that start tonight,Wings are on OLN at 7pm). One of the players they were resting was "The Captain" Steve Yzerman, who due to age and injuries, deserved a rest. I worried I would once again miss him. A Red Wings fan in line (easily identified by all his red and white) told me they were going to sit out Stevie Y again that night. I was heartbroken.
I got inside the arena and took my seat across from the Red Wings bench. You can imagine my surprise and joy when #19 skated out on the ice:

While the Red Wings did not win the game, I think the score was like 6-3, they never intended to. Three of their top 4 scorers were sitting the night out, while Nashville played their top players in front of the home crowd. in the years since I have been to a game in nashville it was sad to see that as before the loudest fans were also the most clueless. Their shouts of "Look at the score, Chelios!" were greeted with my shouts of "Look at the standings!" (Detroit stomped the Predators by 18 points and their closest competition by 11). Of course this was met with confused looks and apparently they do not understand that no matter how many goals they scored they still wont be in first place. But I digress.
After the game I found my way out of downtown Nashville and back to my hotel.
On the way home the next day I happened to stop off at a Krystal somewhere just outside Chattanooga for lunch. While I was there I happened to start talking to the manager who was running the register. They had just dropped the fries to cook so I had some time. I worked into the conversation that I was Hall of Famer #22 and he didn't believe me. I told him I had a box in the car if he wanted to see it, but he walked back in the back and opened a carton of boxes and pulled out a handfull. Sure enough, right there in the middle was good old ME! he laughed and had me sign it, then told me how he'd also applied to get in the hall of fame. I wished him luck and took off with my lunch.
Ok so my trip didn't end with all of the zest that it began with. But I think, finally, I am now easing back into the quiet before the next storm. When the cup comes out this summer, I expect another round of fun and excitement. You're gonna LOVE the cup! Until then, I expect my blogging to slow down some. Work is demanding a little of my attention lately. I guess we'll see how it goes.
So for now, keep looking for me at your local Krystal and let me know when ya find me. If you wanna grab some Krystals with me at some point let me know. I have a few coupons we could use. Or just drop me a line and let me know what's up with you and Krystals.

PS Look for some more Krystal Recipes to show up here soon including the stuffing recipe.
