A merry Krystal day

Well we're swiftly rolling into "Santa-Time" and that means I'll be taking some time away from home, work, Krystal Kountry, and this blog. Like last year I'll be spending Christmas with my [extended] family up at my brother's house in VA. Since that's deep into Burgatory, I'll have to bring some along. Thankfully, unlike customs and the cruise lines, I won't be frisked or X-rayed upon arrival. Well, at least I hope not! Current plans are to leave Macon on Saturday for my grandmother's house. (Please hold all red riding hood jokes to yourself.) Sunday my parents arrive to pick my grandmother and I up, then it's off to my brother's house. I'll be there for a week and then the process goes in reverse. Lots of road time, but thankfully I'm only driving about 6 hours each direction, and riding the rest of the time.
I will be able to check email and perhaps hit the blog while I am at my brothers. But since it's VACATION I doubt I'll be thinking much about posting. So you go enjoy your holidays and we'll regroup here in January. K?
Lots of things have been changing around here lately. I have officially moved back to the base for work, which is where I was prior to April of this year. I'll be back in the classroom most every day, which is good. Sadly, I'll be in the classroom starting at 6am every day. The up side is that I'll be done by 3pm every day. Plus there's a Krystal on my way to and from work, and since they're cooking breakfast early, I can zip thru for a Scrambler even at 5:30am!
Today was a busy Krystal day for me. Dinner was the #3, three Chiks, fries and a Coke. I also picked up a few extra items to finish tweaking a recipe. I'll be posting that one up after the new year, but just to get your taste buds going, think Mexican! I'll be running the recipe by my sister in law who is a real chef to see if she's got any ideas, and then recruit my brother's assistance in naming the creation, since he speaks spanish, and about 20 other languages. (The only thing I can say in Spanish is that I don't speak Spanish. It's actually very easy: "I don't speak Spanish." It works best if you say it loud and veerrryyy slllloooowwwllllyyyyy.)
While purchasing dinner I got to use my Krystal Gift Card that I bought last week, and Bernida was right there. I was the "guinea pig" for buying the card and then today for using the card, as Bernida gathered everyone around to show them how to ring them up. So as you can see, I am unable to get away from the education field. Some times you're the student, some times you're the teacher, and some times you're the lab rat.
While at Krystal I ran into my friend Michael who is a regional manager. Michael was at my induction ceremony, and the Square Off in Perry, and I have run into him on several occasions at various Krystals around Macon. So with Michael and Bernida as well as the rest of the Krystal Krew, it felt a lot like a family holiday gathering.
And it is on that note I want to wish you all the happiest of holidays and the most Merry Christmas ever. I hope your heart grows three sizes this year (and don't shoot your eye out!)

I'm A Krystal Lover
