Busy Krystal Day
Today was a busy Krystal day. I tried to post to my blog via e-mail this morning, and obviously it didn't work. The reason I wanted to post via e-mail is that I saw something quite amazing (and funny) on my way to work. I went through the Krystal drive thru at the Byron, Ga exit off I-75. Normally I go in to Krystal so I can smell the steamy oniony goodness, but in the mornings when I am in a hurry, it's a quick swing through. This morning, at the drive thru menu I saw something that made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants. I don't want to give away what it is, til I get a picture and can post it here. I also have gone thru 2 other Krystal drive thru's today and none of them had it. (Yes it was a Krystal Hat Trick: breakfast, lunch, and dinner). I also got the double cheeses for lunch, so I have those boxes ready to scan. I have a few new Krystal goodies to scan or take pictures of and post here as well. Like I said: busy day! But that's not what you're here for is it? Heck, no! You heard I'd be realing a new recipe tomorrow and you could get a preview tonight. Well, lets get to the FAQ: Q) Well, what the heck IS this new recipe? A) Krystal Pizza Q) Is it really made out of Krystals? A) Yup Q) Is it any good? A) Oh my goodness, yes! It's fantastic! Q) Is it easy to make? A) Certainly. You just need a couple of ingredients and an oven. Q) Other than what's in it, what makes it so darn special? A) Well Krystal has "cornered the market" on square burgers. Get it? "cornered the market" and square? Haha. Yes, I know Wendy's has square burgers, but they only went half way, since their buns are still round. This leaves you with a geometric dining problem. Square peg in a round hole, anyone? No, my Krystal Pizza, just like the Krystal burger, is square, cheesy, oniony, and super yummalicious. (Not to be confused with Fergalicious) Q) Why Pizza? A) Ever since I was in college, pizza has been the #1 food when it comes time for group feasting. I figure it's time for Krystal to conquer the pizza pie world! Actually I had the idea for a Krystal Pizza before I even had the Krystal Stuffing idea. But back then I just poured pizza sauce on a cheese Krystal and went with that. It was alright, but quite messy. I wasn't too bright back then. With the overwhelming success of the Krystal Stuffing, and my Cran-Chik, I decided to revisit Krystal Pizza l, and it actually turned out to be very easy. (And yummalicious!) Q) Do you use the whole Krystal? A) This is actually a very good question. In my stuffing I do use the entire Krystal. I try not to be wasteful. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what to do with some of the bread. Lets face it, in a Krystal, the bread to beef ratio is kind of high. So I got creative. You don't actually use the entire Krystal in the pizza, but there will be a side dish, an appetizer, perhaps. And you'll love that too! So tomorrow night, ask the kids if they want pizza or Krystal for dinner. Once they're done yelling, ask if they would rather have BOTH! Then you can be the greatest mom or dad anywhere when you pop a hot and tasty Krystal pizza out of the oven and everyone digs in! Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, and Dominos better watch out, cause the Krystal Krust Pizza is coming after em! ![]() |
