Lagniappe (look it up)
As you know I have this fixation with coincidences. I don't know if they just seem to happen around me a lot or if I am just super aware of them. It doesn't matter, really, I just find it neat how often they show up. Today is a great example of this. My friend Kim lives in Augusta but she happened to be in town visiting her father. On her way out of town she called to see if I wanted to go to lunch. Had I not been posting my earlier blog entry I would likely been out of the house. Koincidence? Maybe. Kim wanted to go to: Krystal (totally her suggestion not mine). Koincidence? Maybe. We opted for the Krystal on Spring Street in Macon which is where I met Keri a couple of weeks ago. Koincidence? Maybe. Since I had visited Kim back in May on the way to my grandmother's birthday party, I was unsure if I had given her one of my Krystal boxes, so I took one along just in case. When she arrived, she said she hadn't gotten one, so I gave her the one I brought and we walked on in to Krystal. When we got to the counter Kim started talking to the people in line in front of us and showed them the box and told them I was on it. The people behind the counter also joined in the conversation and we were all getting a laugh out of it. The young man running the register ran to the back to tell the people back there I was in. One of the ladies running the register for drive thru had been there when I came in with Keri a few weeks back and recognized me. As Kim is placing her order, I can see the girl in drive through is telling the customer at the window that I am on the box and the customer waves thru the drive thru window at me. I laugh and wave back, thinking that's just a little bit nutty. Then the girl on drive thru tells me that the person at the window works for Krystal. Suddenly it dawns on me: That's Michael, one of the Regional managers for Krystal! So now I ask: Koincidence? Heck Yeah! I laughed and wave at Michael and told him it's good to see him. He was rightfully surprised I am at the Krystal on Spring St., instead of my regular spot on Vineville, but he's glad I am at a Krystal for lunch. After my #1 with cheese, I am glad I was at Krystal for lunch, too. Kim had the #2 combo for lunch with a Cheese Krystal, Chili cheese pup, Chik, and corn pup. Does that sound familiar? Thats because that's what I had on Thursday. Koincidence? Probably not, Kim was just hungry. So if you need a little magic in your life, why maybe a trip to Krystal will serve up some Koincidences for you too. Maybe you'll see me. Maybe you'll get one of my boxes. Maybe you'll see Michael there. At Krystal, anything could happen! (Yes dad, including kids dancing on table tops like that old Krystal TV ad from years ago.) ![]() |
