What's Jason puttin' on his Krystals NOW?!?

OK, so now you know a few things about me:
  • I love Krystals
  • I love to cook
  • I am crazy
You've seen me put stuff on Krystal Chiks, and you've heard reports of my fabled Krystal Stuffing. Well, lets try something new shall we? (Now is when you shout 'Yes Jason! Let's!') Alrighty, kids, let's play...

What's Jason puttin' on his Krystal now?

What could you add to a Krystal to make it extra special? Something new, something creative, something you probably wouldn't expect? That's right!!

Doritos!

I wish I could claim the particular genius that lead to this one, but I can't. My friend Mark, like me, is what I call an experimental chef (in my case you would stress the word 'mental'). Mark was describing his secret ingredient for his hamburgers this weekend: Cool Ranch Doritos. The idea was stunning and delicious all at once.
I have put Cool Ranch Doritos on my sandwiches for years. It adds crunch and unqiue flavors you just can't get any other way. So Mark's idea of adding them to his hamburgers made sense. Can you have the recipe? Well you'd have to ask Mark. Can I give you his email address? No.
So I sat there, reeling from the idea of Cool Ranch Doritos IN my hamburger, and my years of placing them ON my sandwiches, and the idea hit me BLAM-O!! Doritos ON a Krystal. At work today, I hit the snack machine early and bought 2 bags of Doritos: Cool Ranch and Regular (Nacho) flavored. Those two bags sat on my desk all day. I'd look over at them on occasion and giggle to myself like a giddy school girl. Doritos... on a Krystal.... what fun!
So I rush home from work, zip down the road to Krystal and buy a couple of little steamers. The cute little guys had no idea the fun that was in store for them. I zoomed on home and set up for their photo-shoot. (In a fifty cent bag of Doritos, you only get like 4 whole Doritos, and pretty much none of em are flat. Boo, Doritos, boo! For fifty cents, give me more or make em pretty!)
Click-Click. Chomp-Chomp. Crunch-Crunch. Yum-Yum.
I must admit I preferred the Cool Ranch to the Nacho cheese but they were both wonderful. I ate the Cool Ranch first. As I worked thru the Nacho, I got a new idea. Sadly, it's too late to set it up for Cinco de Mayo, but some nifty topping ideas for a Krystal:
  • Melted Nacho Cheese
  • Salsa (America's favorite condiment)
  • Jalapeños (Krystal actually has already tackled this one before)
  • Taco seasoning
Man, I just ate Krystal, and I am hugry again.

I must say...it appears to me that you are adulterating the KRYSTAL.

Sounds good, but at the point when you put a dorito on a KRYSTAL, it isn't a KRYSTAL anymore...it's a KRYSTITO. :) OR a DORYSTAL :)

What a combo. Fun, Fun.
