Fitness Facts

The following are things I have learned from riding a recumbant exercise bike for 20-30 minutes a day for a week now:
  1. If the bike has a digital display but no power cord it is not "stupid."
  2. You should probably keep your glasses on until you "get moving" so you know where the increase/decrease resistance buttons are.
  3. They sell Gatorade in 12oz bottles. Thats like trying to bathe with a wet-nap.
  4. Emily's Toy Box will raise your heart rate, ELO and Elton John will lower it.
    1. Loading your MP3 Player in alphabetical order produces odd combinations.
  5. When you stand up after your 20 minute ride, be careful. Your legs no longer work properly.
  6. No matter how "easy" the recumbant bike gets, you're still never ready for the orbital machine.
  7. If you don't know the difference between the "Cardio" and "Aerobic" settings, leave them alone.
  8. You should not use the heart rate monitor like a video game and trying to set the "high score."
    1. Playing "Pulse Golf" and going for the low score is not very useful either. If you geta hole in 1, you die.
  9. If your shoe comes untied on a recumbant bike you don't have to worry about it getting snagged in the bike chain and crashing.
  10. Advil is good stuff.
Krystal Lovers like it steamy.
