¡Ay, Karamba!
First off, let me point out a post up today over at Krystal-Lovers blog. Apparently two guys built a huge Krystal box tower. All very impressive, I must say. Although a bit of investigation turns up this little tidbit:"Eating 450 Krystal Boxes in 2.5 years!"Ok, I won't comment on the fact that if you are eating the Krystal boxes then you're doing something horribly, horribly wrong. Well, alright, so I guess I did just comment on it. What really struck me is the 450 krystals in 2.5 years. I guess since I do all that sheetmetal math stuff at work something didn't seem quite right. I teach my students that Math is not guessing or opinions, but "hunches" are good things. Hunches point you in the right direction but don't give you the answer. In math the answers come from the proper application of the rules. So I quickly did some number crunching: 450 Krystals in 2.5 years. That's 180 Krystals per year. That in turn is 15 Krystals per month. Thats less than 3.5 Krystals a week. Yes I know that not everyone does the weekly thing like I do, but you see the picture shows two people. If two people can't average more than 4 Krystals a week for 2.5 years then they should probably stop telling people that 450 took them 2.5 years. Then again if I had to eat 450 Krystal boxes, it probably would take me a long time. Burger Box Towers and math aside, let me show you what I did with my latest 4 Krystals. About 10 days ago I was toying with Cheese on a Krystal and jumped head first into some cheese whiz. At the time I remarked on how much better it would be with salsa and perhaps a Dorito on top. Well, yesterday was my Mexican Fiesta! I began to wonder if the addition of some lettuce would take it up another notch but then I started to get light headed at the prospect. I realized that I was flying too close to the sun and my wings were about to melt (like cheese whiz?). When you are creating small steamy tasty bits of perfection in your own kitchen, you need to be careful. I think the world may not be quite ready for the Maxi-Mexi-Melty-Kryspy-Krunchy-Krystal. Try saying that 5 times real fast. |
