Krystal Klear Memories
Saturday was a day I had been looking forward to for a while. Since this whole Krystal Adventure started, I have had the opportunity to meet some great people. I have met the masterminds at Krystal HQ including Kenny, and Jennifer and Tiffany from Krystal HQ (who are now running their own fun blog at krystal-lover.blogspot.com). I met Keri from Eastman. I got to meet fellow KLHOF Inductee Johnny Solomon, who is also from Macon. I hope to some day meet a bunch of the other Inductees. I made the suggestion to Kenny that they have a 'Class Reunion' of the inductees one day. He said they'd been thining about that for a while and it may happen one day. That would be awesome. But perhaps one of the best meetings so far was not someone new, but someone from my past. While I was in college at Mercer University I was a member of Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) fraternity. One of my brothers, Brian, and I wound up working together at the Mercer post office after graduation while I was in grad school. You have heard me mention Brian on occasion and likely seen him post comments here in this blog as well. Back at the PO, Brian would join me on my Thursday Krystal run and that continued even after we both moved on to other jobs. But eventually even that ended. Then one day you wake up and realize that, despite only living about 30 miles away from each other you haven't seen each other in 8 years. That's a lot of years, and memories, and Krystals that are gone and cannot be replaced. As soon as this blog got started I began to track down Brian. He of all people would 'get it.' It didn't take long for us to start e-mailing and calling and it was just like old times. Obviously we needed to get together for some Krystals. But it isn't always so easy anymore. We both have busy lives and Brian and his wife Carolyn (an ATO sweetheart) have kids now. But through the undeniable Power of the Krystal, we made it work. Bryan and I and his family finally got together Saturday for some good times and great food, obviously at Krystal. ![]() After my recent loss of my friend Ken, I have realized, time moves too fast and memories fade too quick. What you do today will be the memories you will have tomorrow. Are you doing right now things that you will look back on fondly? If not, then stop it. Go do something you will look back on and smile about and be proud of. Every moment you waste is a wasted moment, so get started now. Brian reminded me of a few of our friends from long ago I have lost touch with so I plan to spend my memorial day tracking them down and reconnecting. I pray that you, too, will make the most of your Memorial Day, and every day! ![]() |

What this man (Jason) has not told the world is that he IS THE MAN!!!!!! So I will say it for him.
Jason was the MAN that introduced me to the JOYS OF KRYSTAL! Not only on Thursdays, but to a lot of worldly truisms, ie: "the what-if" argument :) If you haven't heard his thoughts on the "what-if" Statement...ASK HIM! He has the best philosophy!
Also, JASON WAS THE MAN who helped me GET the job at the Mercer University Post Office. I owe a lot to this man. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be where I am now.
Jason was the man who showed me how to ORDER KRYSTAL "4 cheese, add katcup, medium fries, and a medium Coke." That is the mantra. Plus many other fond memories.
The best part is that KRYSTAL was what FOSTERED some of my most cherished memories. THANK YOU JASON.
If any of you out there have a chance to eat KRYSTALS with Jason TAKE IT! Don't let it pass you by. He will impart lessons and stories THAT YOU WILL REMEMBER FOREVER! You will have caught the day and memories you won't ever forget.
THANK YOU JASON. I loved seeing you again! Even though the kids were HELLIONS (yeah, you forgot to mention that.) Let us not make it another 8 years before we have KRYSTALS again!
