Burgatory Ahead, Cap'n!
Burgatory, the final frontier. These are the voyages of Krystal Kid. His 5-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. (And bring Krystals with him.) Captain's log, stardate 70907.6. Alright, so now trouble starts brewing. I had an apartment in Wilmington all picked out. Was assured it would be ready by the 15th. We kept trying to get an earlier move in date but they kept trying to back it up. So the 15th it is. I have arranged for the power, cable, and phone to be turned on as well as set up forwarding orders for my mail. I also printed up about 50 card with my new address and phone number to pass out to friends so they can keep in touch with me. Today, Missy, calls to tell me that apartment 102 will not be ready and they're going to put me in 104 instead. Please be Aware: If I have handed you a card with my new address and phone number on it, you better change the apartment number to 104.!! Tomorrow I will call Missy and tell her that SHE needs to get my phone, power, and cable appointments changed. I haven't got a clue how to work out the forwarding mail order. (and I used to work for the post office!!) I suspect I'll have to set up a second forwarding order from apt 102 to 104?!?! Thankfully I have not gotten any of my bills sent to the new address (but I almost mailed them out today!) If you need to know my mailing address and phone number then please email me and let me know. Obviously my email address and this blog address will be staying the same. While I am at it, I am going to try and keep posting here (and emailing) until the last minute. But the desk my computer is on will probably be one of the first things into the truck, so I may suddenly disappear at any moment. My cable, and thus internet access, won't be on until Monday morning (unless this address change screws that up!). So you can probably expect it to be quiet from Thursday evening to Monday afternoon, as Krystal Adventures relocates their headquarters from the heart to Krystal Kountry to the forward outpost of Burgatory, in Wilmington. I plan to stop at the Krystal on Washington Rd, in Augusta, GA, just off I-20 to pick up my last steamer pack for a while. It will have to last me til the end of the month. July 30th, I will be back in Krystal Kountry, as Emily's Toybox once again invades Brunswick, GA. Just like last time I am staying right next door to a Krystal, so I'll be grabbing a steamer pack for the road, and that will have to last me til the end of August. By then I should hopefully have my Burger-Logistics (Burgistics?) worked out for Murrell's Inlet. I refuse to see all of this as stressful. It's new, exciting, and it's sure as heck a Krystal Adventure. Just bear with me while I work the kinks out of the system and get things back up and running. But again, I'll post as long as I can up until the move happens. Tomorrow is my official last visit to Warner Robins before I leave town. I am visiting with Jarrett's parents, having lunch with a few friends from the base, and also dropping a few items off with my friend Kim's father. Then it's back to packing, packing, packing. Surprisingly, no one has taken me up on my offer to help pack. How odd.. ![]() |
