So ya wanna Square Off, eh?
| So I know I left everyone hanging on my Krystal Square Off recap. Poor timing on my part led to a traffic jam here at krystal Adventure. Between the Square Off, Krystal's 74th Birthday, my cruise and trips to Brunswick, I sort of lost track of things. But I'll be diggin those pictures and stories out in the next few days to close out the Square Off recap. But just to get you in the mood, here's a little gem I've had buried on my computer for a while.  (Click the picture to see the full size version) These coupons were a PDF file you could download from the web and print up at home. Needles to say, I printed up a few copies! I still have the PDF file, but for obvious reasons it's only good for laughs now. It is ironic, though, looking back at what, at the time, was considered an astronomical amount of Krystals to eat. The Sack Full of twelve came with two drinks. Obviously they never suspected the average person would eat all twelve Krystals. Now to put this into perspective: Kobayashi ate more than FOUR times the number of Krystals on the "Advanced" coupon. And he did it in 8 minutes. Stunning. And it is even more stunning to see in person. While I am not sure exactly when or where the Square Off will happen next year, it is safe to assume it will be a late October Saturday and in Chattanooga, TN. Perhaps you should set aside some vacation time to make it to the land where Krystals were born. While you are there you can venture to the location of the first Krystal (even though it isn't a Krystal anymore.) You can stare up in awe at the Krystal building in downtown with its big red letters proclaiming it's dominance. And with the 75th birthday of Krystal coming (Oct 24th), I am sure the fine folks at KHQ will be pulling out all the stops in celebration of all things small, square, and steamy. I know I'll be there. And I can't wait!  |
