Where did I go?

So I'm sure everyone is wondering where I disappeared to. In the middle od recapping the Square Off in Chattanooga I dropped the ball. Well lets just call is "occupational insanity."
Starting back in September I began teaching occasional courses back on Robins Air Force Base (where I had spent the previous 4 years teaching. However I am not teaching computer courses as I used to. I am not teaching "avionics" classes. Yeah, I don't know what those are either.
So being on the base and out from under the campus firewall might allow me time to post here during the day, right? Well it should. The base firewall doesn't block Blogspot.com. Sadly, the computer in the classroom I am usually teaching in is the only computer in the building that doesn't have an internet connection. I would certainly use my office computer except I do not have an office on the base. I am a hobo.
Now my teaching hours on the base are a rather painful 6am-3pm. But since I have to prep for class, I need to arrive by 5:45 or so. Thus I leave the house at 5am. When I get home around 3:30, I am worn out. One would expect me to eventually get used to the new hours. The problem is, I am on base 2 or 3 days a week, but on campus the rest of the week, where the working hours are 7:45-4:45. That's a 2 hour time shift. So imagine crossing into another time zone, when daylight savings time changes. Twice a week. Luckily, I will be on base every day until November 28th. (Luckily?)
So yes, it has been difficult to get back here and post things. But that doesn't mean my life isn't still full of Krystal Adventures. I am just having trouble getting back here to tell you about them. In fact right now I am supposed to be prepping for a class I am teaching tomorrow morning. So you benefit from my procrastination. (Benefit?)
You may recall a while back I told you that the Jason boxes are now completely gone barrign an amazing discovery in some store room somewhere. The Square off boxes took their place. Well now that the square off has passed, the new boxes are in stores. Brad told me that Krystal would be rolling out a new look after the square off, and starting with the boxes. Here's a peek:
Yes that's a tasy bowl of chili in the background. I subbed that in rather than fries. It's been darn cold at night in Macon the past week or so and when it's chilly outside, you want chili inside!
So I have 2 each of the regular and cheese Krystal boxes. I also have 2 of the "special" boxes as well. Why two of each you ask? Well the new boxes have themes to them, a story. As far as I can tell there are 2 different boxes of each type. I had intended to scan them all for you and for my Krystal box collection web page. The problem is, the scanner I usually use is connected to my campus computer, which you now know I wont see for 2 weeks. We do have a scanner on the base but it is connected to a computer that should have been dragged out back and shot several years ago. The CD drive doesn't work, it wont recognize my USB drive and the floppy disk drive doesn't work. And forget logging in and emailing the pictures to myself. I tried, but you cannot access any "non Air Force" email from base computers. And I can only access my Air Force email from one specific computer on base, and as you've probably guessed, its not the one with the scanner. All of this is in the name of security. If someone can explain this to me, and how it makes things more secure please let me know.
So that's where I went. I havent forgotten about you and I am not hiding. Things have just gotten rather messy and complicated. All indications are that the trend will continue right up to Christmas. So if I dont see you before Thanksgiving, I hope you have a happy one! If you try to Krystal Stuffing, please email me and let me know how it goes. And don't forget to buy the new Krystal Gift Cards for the people you care about this Christmas. You can buy them in stores or at Krystal.com. (Look up at the top of the web page.)
Krystal Lovers get more in the sack!.
