Good New, Bad News

Yesterday was a busy day for me. After my last post I had decided I was going to go to Krystal in Gray and Milledgeville to figure out why my friend Brian was having such trouble getting my boxes or cups. Then it occured to me: Once I got there what could I do? Throw a temper tantrum? Whine and cry? I decided that since the Krystal in Gray isn't too far from Brian, he might like to eat there for lunch, and we could meet up. I called him up and it took little effort to convince him that Krystal would make an excellent lunch. I later found out that was his plan for the day anyway. That's either another Krystal Koincidence, or we're both just hungry guys.
So around noon I met Brian, his wife Carolyne, and their kids Logan and Elaina. I had a cup to give to him since he'd still been unsuccessful in acquiring one. we also could use it as evidence so the folks at Krystal would stop thinking he was crazy. As soon as we walked in, I located the stack of cups in the back and saw it was #38 Cindy Raleigh's cup. Her cup came out at the same time as mine so I felt the odds were good. Brian stepped up and placed his order ending with "I want this cup" and showed her the cup I had brought. The girl laughed for a moment, realized he was serious and turned to look at her stack of cups. Realizing it was "the smelly cup" as Brian refers to it (and if you saw it you'd understand) she started slowly working down through the cups. About 6 cups down she lifted one up and I could clearly see the word "stuffing" in upside down red writing. "There it is!" I yelled, and the excitement level went through the roof. Brian and Carolyne and I all danced around for a moment in sheer joy. (OK, Caroline didn't dance, she looked at Brian and I like we were crazy, but we get that a lot.) I asked the cashier how many cups they had and she said it was basically the whole stack, so Brian and I stocked up on a few extras. Brian also indulged in the new Onion Petals which are utterly amazing!
While sitting and eating, the people at the next table couldn't help but overhear half the story as Brian and I laughed and giggled and ate good food. Carolyn briefly explained the details to them showing them the cup and a box I "happened" to have handy. As we wrapped up our meal, Brian decided he would need a few more cups to show people he worked with, so it was back to the counter:

If you look in the back, just to the left of my reflection in the security window, you can see the stack of cups and that stack is almost all my cups. So if you still want one, go to Gray, and hurry! You may have to wait though because as we sat and ate we saw no less than 5 "Steamers" (the big cardboard carry case of 24 Krystals) being sold and carried out the door. Gray sure does love Krystal!
After my tasty lunch of I headed north to Commerce to investigate the story of my face on a Krystal window ad. I haven't driven that route in a long long time and it's changed quite a bit. When i arrived, I knew immediately it wasn't my picture. It was the same window ad we have in Macon. I believe the confusion came because one of the guys has hair a lot like mine and when youre looking at line drawings from a long way away, it's easy to confuse em.
The trip wasn't a waste though, as I stopped in to have a BA Burger (man those are good!) and then went to shop at the outlet stores. I believe it's a law that if you stop in Commerce you have to go shopping.
Krystal Lovers like it steamy.
