Finally!!

Previously you've met Brian, my fraternity brother and Krystal Komrad for so many years. A few weeks back Brian and his family and I met up for the first time in a very long time to catch up over ketchup, a go over our favorite memories over our favorite food. Brian had been struggling to find a Krystal box in Middlegeville and/or Gray Georgia (where he lives and works). He's been sending me weekly updates of his campaign, and posted a few as comments on this blog. I suspect he's become "notorious" at both Krystals.
When we finally caught up with each other I brought him a box. He of all people had earned it. He was mighty appreciative of the box, for sure. And yet, not quite satisfied, and I can completely understand why. I think it's along the lines of the World Cup soccer game between England and Paraguay where England won 1-0 off of an "own goal." And Own Goal is where basically your opponent puts the ball in his own net. Usually this happens because the opponent wants to clear the ball over net or out of bounds. Sadly, the player from Paraguay didn't quite make good contact, and it went in his own net. (I didnt see the actual goal, but I wonder who gets to run around, do cartwheels, and rip off their shirt: the goal scorer or the team who got the goal).
Either way I can see being given the box might be seen as a "cheap win" so I understand Brian's determination to get one the "real way." The lengths to which he was going were amazing:
As I was telling you earlier, I have been on a quest to get your box, in my clear platic bag from Krystals. I have been employin devious tactics to get your box, ie: buying extra Krystals to share with coworkers, buying extra Krystals (and not being able to eat them all.) I have been going to Krystals 3-4 times a week for the past month or so doing this. And I have been foiled.
I, like Brian started to wonder if "my time" had passed and my boxes were long gone by now. I hadn't gotten any updates in a while and the people at my Krystal hadn't seen any in "weeks." Brian and I had given up on boxes and decided to concentrate on Cups, but then...
Well my hope to was to try and get your cup when I asked the bossman if he wanted any Krystals. He did want me to get him some, so I had a reason to go. I got 4 cheese medium fry and a super size cup and I got the bossman his food, 2 cheese add katsup and 2 krystals add katsup (I told him not to do that, but he is the boss...) So I settled into my desk chair with my newspaper and my lunch. One by one, I watched the #39 KLHOF krystal disappear, then the #40 disappears, then I figured I was to the regular cheese boxes (as this is normally what I get, 2 KLHOF boxes and 2 regular cheese boxes, or if I get 5 I get 3 KLHOF boxes and 2 regular boxes.) So I looked at the box and confirmed, regular cheese box, yup, just like I figured. The last one in the bag...I pull it out, with no thought that IT WOULD BE YOUR BOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT YOUR BOX IN MILLEDGEVILLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I screamed out loud: "I got one, I got one!" All the while doing a little dance...I am a white boy, so I might better call it moving around while standing up. Bossman looked at me a little funny, I didn't care. I am so thankfull I got one, on my own, with my own money, in my own car and on my lunch 1/2 hour! I am so happy. My quest continues for a cup. I have hope again that it IS possible to get your mug with my meal at Krystal.
I was starting to think you had made up those boxes you gave me and you put krystal residue in them to make them look like the real thing (especially after you made that post about how to "make your own".)
I got one, and that is all that I care about! :)
Happy again.

So let this serve as a lesson to ya folks! The boxes ARE out there, and creativity is the way to get them! I hadn't thought of offering to go grab Krystals for the folks in the office in an effort to increase my odds.
As mentioned previously, I am going to Commerce, GA today to look into my nephew, Ethan "The Eagle" reports that they have a sign with me on it. I am delaying my leave time a bit to hit after lunch rush. However since I *have* to go through Gray on the trip I might drop by and give them a peice of my mind for tormenting Brian for so long. I think M'ville is a bit out of my way, but I have time, and who can say no to Krystal? They may get a unexpected visitor today as well. hmmm Krystal Kid world tour 2006?
Krystal Lovers get more in the sack!.
