Cookin with Calvin

I've said it before and I'll say it over and over again. The people at Krystal are some of the greatest. I'm not just talking about Kenny, Tiffany, and Jennifer at KHQ. Although I think the fantastic love and devotion of those at the "top" of the company is reflected by those "in the trenches."
In the past you've heard me talk about Bernida, who won Regional manager of the year and happens to be one of the managers at my local Krystal. She was there for my induction cermony and got the cake for me. Bernida is awesome. I wish I knew the names of everyone at my Krystals so I could give them the proper kudos they deserve. Day in and day out, slugging it out behind the counter, just trying to get me my little boxes of joy. And they do it with a smile. Kustomer service with ultimate Klass!
Another manager at my Krystal is Calvin. Calvin always ran the late shift. Working the late night shift anywhere stinks, but Calvin and his crew were always laughing and having fun. When it's 11pm and you're hungry, they made Krystal feel like it was all for you.
Almost a year ago on a particularly yucky Thursday night, I made my way to Krystal for my traditional serving of delight. Since the weather was crummy I decided I was going to improve my evening by adding bacon to my #1 combo with cheese and upsizing the Coke. As Calvin rang up the order I realized I only had $6 cash in my pocket and the total was well over $6. Slightly embarrased I started to reach for my credit card. (It's awesome that Krystals takes credit cards.) Calvin waved me off and said he'd cover the Coke for me. Now lets face it, I was being a pig. I could have nixed the bacon or the cheese or even gone with the medium Coke. Calvin stepped in and never batted an eye. He then stepped over to personally make my Krystals and we talked about the beauty of crispy bacon on a Krystal while he loaded me up. Had this whole thing happened AFTER I was inducted into the KLHOF, that would have been one thing, but at that point, I was just a hungry late night Krystal customer short on cash. Calvin took care of me like the true professional.
PS Calvin is extremely camera shy. It took me almost a month to finally catch and corner him long enough to get this picture.
I'm A Krystal Lover
