Krystal Kid Goes To Summer School
| Starting next month I'll be in summer school. No, I haven't been bad or skipped any classes. I'm going to be teaching a night class two nights a week. You see my secret identity is a teacher, computers in particular. The past 3 or 4 months my focus has been on online course development. That's all fun and interesting, but it can and does get old. If don't get some time in the classroom on occasion, as a student or teacher, I start to get crabby. I passed crabby sometime last week and am well on my way to grumpy. For about 2.5 hours Tuesday and Thursday evenings from July to September, I'll be teaching the Introduction to Microcomputers course at school. I know your first question is 'Jason, how will you get Krystals if you're at work all day Thurday?' That was your first question, right? Well the question isn't so much when will I get my Krystals so much as it is where will I get them. Since I'll be gone from my secret lair for almost 14 hours a day, I will likely have to change my regular Thursday spot from the store on Vineville to the store in Byron, just off I-75. It's not the closest to where I work, but it is on the way home. So this means my Thursday Krystals will be devoured while doing something similar to the speed limit on I-75. Sadly that means my Thursday trend of 'lets put neat stuff on a Krystal' will come to an end after this week. Of course I'll still have the little steamers on other occasions, so don't panic. Just don't expect Thursdays to be the wild hedonistic Krystal parties like they have been. The class ends in the middle of September so things should return to normal then (as if things have ever been normal around here). Now where this gets interesting is that we have had a request for another class that only 2 of us at work qualify to teach. We knew we'd eventually have a demand for it, but figured we'd be teaching it during the day. It appears the customer now wants it taught evening hours. Normally the class is something like an 80 hour class, run all day for 2 weeks. Taught evenings only that course is going to be a marathon, and unless my compadre wants to take the whole thing (he won't) then we're going to have to team teach it and work around my Tues/Thur class. So if this class makes, I can see me doing course development for 8 hours a day followed by 2 or 3 hours of evening classes. Four days a week. ouch As I am sure you can understand these new classes will demand more of my time and attention, so you may notice less participation from me here at Krystal Adventure. I think we'll just have to wait and see what happens. But if you stick with me, I'll stick with you! And heck if you wind up in my class and wanna be teacher's pet, leave the apple at home and bring me a Chik (no mayo!)  |
