Did I do that?!?
| Rolling into a long weekend, and enjoying some tasty Krystals. But then you probably already knew that. Stopped by my Krystals after work and grabbed a combo to go. I asked if they'd seen any of my cups yet and the shift leader said she hadn't but she was keeping an eye out and would pull some aside when she saw them. On the way out, I told everyone there to have a nice day and she replied 'See you next Thursday!' It took a second for me to realize she was right! I think I am turning into the Norm of Krystal on Vineville. But on to other more important things! Over at Krystal-Lover Tiffany has posted a partial e-mail from her boss. They're apparently stuck in Chicago and trying to make it home. Not all that exciting I am sure except for one small subtle point. In her post, Tiffany uses the term 'burgatory' to describe Chicago and it's severe lack of Krystals. I am not 100% sure, but I believe I came up with the term Burgatory. A quick search on a few of my favorite web search engines shows only a few random links, one for a restaurant name in an obscure movie, another for a game sponsored by Morgan Surlock's 'Super Size Me' movie (and don't even get me started on that film). And of course a quick check of Wikipedia shows nothing. Now it's not that I am going to claim trademark or copyright infringements or anything. Lord knows with as many times as I have mentioned Krystal, posted their logos, etc, if they decided to enforce trademark issues I'd be in deep deep DEEP trouble. Let me take the opportunity to state something long overdue: I am doing this blog out of fun and love of Krystals. Since I am not trying to MAKE money, I'd like to believe that my good natured use of Krystal Logos, as well as a few other companies, will be toerated. And also, since I am not trying to LOSE money either, hopefully Krystal and the rest of the companies don't decide to sue me! No, what got my attention at Tiffany's mention of Burgatory was that a word I had sort of come up with is now being used by someone at Krystal HQ! When I saw that at work this afternoon, I immediately jumps up from my desk and did my little happy dance! No you may not see any video clips of me doing the happy dance. I am a tall and hopelessly white guy. Use your imagination. There may have been a little cabbage patch in there along with some my throwing my hands up into the air and waving them around as if I did not care. But that's between me and my co-workers. (Did I mention we're on summer break so there's only 2 of us in the office this week?) So very cool! I made up a word! Take THAT Funk & Wagnalls!! Now probably isn't the right time to point out to the folks stuck in Chicago that they happen to be completely surrounded by The Albino Fortress if they simply MUST have a small square burger.  |
