Wait a minute, Mr. Postman!

When I made my trip to Kryastal HQ in Chattanooga last month, Kenny showed me the display case of Krystal History. One of the things on display was a postcard of the origional Krystal Restaurant, opening day, at 7th and Cherry St. in downtown Chattanooga. Oddly enough I had seen the same postcard on Ebay a while back. I bid on it but got "sniped" at the last minute. I wrote it off as just not my luck but I kept my eyes peeled for another one.
When I told Kenny this story, he said he might be able to help me out. Well my friends, Kenny certainly came through!

I assure you the actual card looks much better than this scan. I did scan it at maximum resolution and the result was big enough to wallpaper my bedroom (which I considered) but also was 39 Megabytes. I am sure you're glad I didn't try to upload that one. I am sure GeoCities is!
Let me dispell any rumors and myths before anyone gets them started. I am NOT any of the people gathered in front of the store on opening day. I know this for 3 very important reasons:
  1. It was a Monday (not Thursday)
  2. I wouldn't be born for almost 40 years
  3. My parents hadn't even been born yet
As yet another Krystal Koincidence, October 24th happens to be my brother's birthday. No, he was NOT born in 1932.
Now had I actually been there, I'd have put a hurting on them. Can't you see the price in the window? Five Cents! Give me a crisp George Washington and get out of my way!
Lastly, for those like me, who enjoy a good "Before" and "After" look, you can compare the postcard above with the pictures I took of the Angus Cafe while I was up in Chattanooga. The Angus Cafe is the first Krystal used to be. [sniffle]
Krystal Lovers get more in the sack!.
