Nice Try, TBS!

As you probably know, today is the Krystal Square Off World Hamburger Eating Championship in Chattanooga. If you have been paying attention you might have heard that Kobayashi has bowed out this year. His jaw is still not 100% from before Nathan's Hot Dog contest on July 4th. He tried a contest a few weeks ago and was beaten by Joey "Jaws" Chestnut and Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti. That means that there will absolutely be a new Krystal Eating Champion this year.
While Joey and Pat have put up stellar numbers during the qualifiers, there are plenty of others within range. Also, as we saw last year, sometimes there's burger gamesmanship and eaters will purposely go easy during the qualifier and then go all out during the finals. Watch for Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas, "Humble" Bob Shoudt and Tim "Eater X" Janus to break personal bests and really make the Krystal disappear.
I havent seen if BoDog is taking bets this year or not, but if they are, bet on a new record being set, and bet on the Krystal Century (100 burgers in 8 minutes).
As for our friends at TBS. Apparently out of frustration that ESPN landed the lucrative Square Off, they have decided to fight back. Starting at 1pm (EST) TBS will be showing "Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle." Obviously trying to cash in on the Krystal Market. However the joke is on TBS.
TBS doesn't stand for "Tiny Burger Syndrome" it stands for "Too Bad Suckers!" H&K is only a little over 1:45 long and with a 1pm start that means the movie will be ending at 2:45. While ESPN will start broadcasting at 2:30pm, the actual Square Off won't be starting until a little after that, so people will easily make it to ESPN for the real burgers.
Sadly, I cannot be at the Square off this year (obviously) so I'll be chowing down on some recently defrosted Krystals while everyone in Chattanooga is eating FRESH hot small square ones. I contemplated a mad dash to the Myrtle Beach Krystal this mornin for some fresh ones, but with midterms coming up, I need to hang close to home and work. But I promise I'll be glued to the set, burgers in hand. I even plan to make some french fries to complete my meal. Oh it's going to be a glorious day. Simply Glorious!
PS If you haven't seen Harold and Kumar, it's not worth the price of a rental, but if its on free TV then it's worth a watch, if only to see Neil Patrick Harris's part. This was post Doogie Howser MD and pre How I met Your Mother, when Neil could possibly qualify as a "Has Been."
Krystal Lovers get more in the sack!.
